Our Licensed Counselors, Social Workers, and Certified Substance Use Disorder Clinicians strive to provide the most helpful and up-to-date services to all of our clients. We work together by using interdisciplinary methods and care management techniques.
Everyone on the clinical team is well versed in individual, group, family/couples, and parent-child therapy. Each therapist is regularly learning new skills and improving their therapeutic methods, as well as meeting and exceeding their continuing education requirements. All of this is important to us, in order to provide the most comprehensive treatment to you and your family.

ROSE LACIVITA, LPC
Rose joins our team with a free spirit and always has a smile on! Moving to Canyon County on a whim and a passion to meet diverse people, she is always set to show her compassion and empathy. All of her skills and dedication make her a beneficial member of our clinical team. Rose graduated with her Master’s Degree from Xavier University and is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor.
A Wholistic approach gives Rose the understanding of how all aspects of a person’s life are integral to helping them become the best person that they want to be. With a history of providing care to those in an inpatient/ residential substance use disorder facility, Rose understands the challenges that clients can face when they are back in their own environment and looking for the best ways to continue with positive changes despite the many challenges that they might face.
Being nonjudgmental and ensuring that everyone is taught the necessary skills to build their confidence while tackling their greatest challenges, allows Rose to maintain her focus that is consistent with Aura Counseling & Wellness’s vision, mission and goals. Always on the go, Rose finds time to enjoy the outdoors in Idaho by hiking, camping and exploring all that the Northwest has to offer!
KATIE MCMURRAY, LMSW
We welcomed Katie to our team in early 2020, when she was looking to become established in our wonderful Nampa community. Katie has proven herself to be a valuable asset to our team in a short amount of time by recognizing the importance of Trauma-Informed Care. Her quick learning style and ability to adapt to the integrated and client-focused treatment philosophy of Aura Counseling, has helped her blend in seamlessly to our team!
Katie graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Keene State College and went on to earn her Master’s Degree from Arizona State University in Social Work. She is currently a Licensed Master’s Social Worker pursuing her Clinical Licensure.
Katie has a passion for working with at-risk teens and challenging them with new, meaningful ways. Katie recognizes how technology plays a valuable role in the future of therapy. With a background in helping women survivors of domestic violence, Katie has been able to plant roots with a counseling agency that is willing to work as hard for their clients every day, just as much as she does! Katie’s awareness of the importance of treating mental health and addiction as a dual disorder does not make her unique but her passion to integrate music and art into traditional forms of therapy sure does make her priceless to our team!
Amy Kappel, LCPC, NCC, CCTP-II
Amy Kappel is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and has worked as a counselor in the Nampa/ Boise area for more than 10 years. She specializes in Substance Use Disorders, Trauma/ PTSD issues and how the two issues impact individuals and families as a whole. Amy enjoys working with adolescents, adults, couples and families, and uses multiple forms of therapy including: EMDR Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral, Trauma Focused, Guided Meditation/ Hypnosis, as well as several other evidenced based methods.
Amy was born and raised in Eastern Idaho so she understands the values and needs of Idahoans. Amy attended Boise State University for her Master of Arts in Counseling degree and graduated with the highest honors. She was also awarded the Idaho Counseling Association's Counselor of the Year Award in 2018.
After working for agencies for several years, Amy decided that being able to specialize in and manage her clinical philosophies in order to help others, was more important than how much she earned. Amy chose to continue to pursue her goal of helping others and that is how Aura Counseling and Wellness was born.
With a strong personality, understanding ways, and the ability to bring out motivation in almost anyone, she continues to provide guidance to clients so they can conquer their mental health issues and learn to overcome their substance use challenges. She often reminds herself (and others) that it's about progress and not perfection!
Amy is also a member of the American Counseling Association, Idaho Counseling Association, National Board for Certified Counselors, a IATP Certified Complex Trauma Professional, trained in EMDR therapy & Hypnosis, and she is a Clinical Supervisor registered with IBOL & IBADCC.
